[Three Kingdoms] When You Can See the Enemy’s Decisions

As a modern man, Chen Ying transmigrated overnight to the Chen family of Xuzhou in the late Han Dynasty. This was the family whose patriarch was Chen Gui and whose eldest son was Chen Deng, the father and son who had so easily toyed with Lu Bu.

As an obscure member of the family, Chen Ying could have relied on his clan's influence to survive the troubled times. But then he got a System. It could show him the decisions made by any warlord deemed a hostile force, even those made by their generals and strategists.

Chen Ying: I want to keep my head down, but I could do it a lot more comfortably... right, Boss Cao?

Chen Ying had planned to retire early in Wei. When Liu Bei came to Xuzhou for a "temporary stay" and asked the officials and generals there for advice, Chen Ying politely warned him, then planned to pack up and leave.

But Uncle Liu earnestly asked him to stay. And he said, "I do not delight in gaining Xuzhou. I delight in gaining Yuan Shou."

Chen Ying hesitated, and in the end, he gave in.

One day in Xiapi, Chen Ying advised, "My lord, Lu Bu has been defeated by Cao Cao and will surely lead his troops to Xuzhou... blah, blah, blah... This is Cao Cao's scheme to set a tiger against a wolf."

Liu Bei was shocked. "What should we do?"

He turned to Chen Ying for advice.

Chen Ying said, "...Uh. My lord, coming up with strategies really isn't something I'm good at."

The adventure of an idealist lies in knowing how things might end, yet still being fired up at the beginning of the story.

(Don't nitpick the history. This is a parallel world that mixes in elements from Romance of the Three Kingdoms.)
