A Detective Story

If you are the protagonist of a detective story, you might need:

A character profile: Usually a down-and-out detective, an unrecognized writer, or a veteran just back from the battlefield and suffering from PTSD.

A partner: An old detective nearing retirement, your senior who knows plenty of long-buried secrets; or a worldly old hand who has worked all sorts of jobs and knows how to get along with anyone, always able to provide inside information; or a street kid, like Gavroche, who can offer unexpected help when you're being hunted by your enemies.

An opening: How you got dragged into this cold case.

The adventure begins.

Theme: Justice will prevail.
