Raised under the watchful care of his female parent and older sibling, Kleian grew up to be the model native-born male insect of the Empire. He was handsome, highborn, and impeccably mannered, attracting countless female insects and female-bodied sub-insects who threw themselves at him, hoping to seduce him.
The only one who never gave him the time of day was his older sibling's friend, Leia. They simply did not get along.
He had never met such an unreasonable female-bodied sub-insect!
Leia, a gentle doctor renowned throughout the Empire for his medical skill, came from a noble family. At the military hospital, he had witnessed the brutality of countless male insects.
He had already heard plenty about his friend Hiven's younger brother, but assumed his friend was simply biased.
Just look at him. He's throwing a tantrum at a group of female insects and has even smashed cake all over his own face.
When something happened to Hiven, Kleian offered to help. Leia had no intention of accepting.
But Kleian really did manage to uncover some useful information.
Fine. Passing along a few details was no big deal. Besides, it was a pain having an immature little male insect pestering him every day.
Leia raised his chin. "Fine, I agree. Go home and wait for news. You can forget about helping. If a precious male insect gets so much as a scratch, I'll be the one who suffers for it."
Kleian snorted. "Who do you think you're looking down on? You might be the one begging me for information."
Leia answered with a scoff. "You? This little male insect hasn't even woken up from his daytime nap."
Kleian was so angry he could barely speak. "If that day ever comes, don't you dare try to wriggle out of having begged me!"
One day, after visiting the witness insect Kleian had found, Leia was about to leave when Kleian grabbed him by the wrist.
"I'm just a little male insect, so I imagine a big insect like you always keeps his word."
Kleian leaned close to Leia's ear. A mischievous smile flashed in his golden eyes. "I've given you this information in advance. What are you going to give me in return?"
Leia's face was faintly red, whether from anger or embarrassment. He opened and closed his mouth several times before finally stammering out two reluctant words in a low voice.
Suddenly, only one thought remained in Kleian's mind:
Oh no. Why do I kind of want to kiss him?

Little scene:
Kleian: "Once I've come of age and completed my awakening, we'll register our marriage. Whether the law and the Male Insect Protection Association allow it or not, you'll be my female consort."
Before long, the news that left every insect dumbfounded spread through every street and alley of the Empire: "Big news! The Empire's most famous pair of sworn enemies are actually about to get together?"
"What kind of new genre is this? Yesterday you wouldn't give me the time of day, and tomorrow we're becoming one family?"
