[Upcoming novel. I can't think of a title just yet. I'll polish the title and blurb before I start posting.]
When Yan Weian was young, he was the heir to Prince Rui. Kind and naive, he knew nothing of the people's suffering or the royal family's dark secrets.
It wasn't until his parents were murdered and he was left with an old injury near his shoulder blade that he understood: even though he and his father had never wanted the throne, the suspicious demon had never spared them.
From then on, Yan Weian became ruthless, vowing to seize the throne and make those people pay for their blood debt.
Thankfully, his adopted younger brother, Yan Huan, wasn't frightened off. Instead, he did everything he could to help.
As they journeyed forward side by side, Yan Weian accidentally discovered the feelings Yan Huan had buried deep in his eyes. Before long, he too had fallen helplessly into Yan Huan's devotion.

Yan Huan was a child Yan Weian found in the mountains. He had no known family, and the only thing he owned was a safety charm engraved with the character "Huan."
Yan Weian gave him his surname and taught him to read and fight. From then on, Prince Rui's residence became Yan Huan's home, and Yan Weian became the one he loved.
But out of gratitude, he kept his feelings to himself, doing everything he could to help Yan Weian obtain all that he desired.
He never imagined that his love would one day see the light of day.

On the eve of the decisive battle against Xidi, the King of Xidi sent an envoy, declaring that if Great Yan would hand over General Yan Huan, they would willingly submit, sign a treaty, and pay tribute to Great Yan.
The court of Great Yan erupted. Everyone thought it was an incredibly good bargain. Only Yan Weian, eyes bloodshot with rage and jaw clenched, turned on his heel and stormed out.
Yan Weian thought all he had to do was refuse, but he never expected Yan Huan to send himself to Xidi in the middle of the night for his sake.
He gained the throne he had wanted and fulfilled his parents' hopes for a peaceful and prosperous realm...
But he also received news of Yan Huan's death and lost the one he loved.

The emperor of Great Yan had no worldly desires, which left the officials frantic. Some were even bold enough to try sending male favorites to the imperial harem.
Yan Huaian frowned in disgust and told the male favorite they had sent to get lost.
But the man wouldn't leave. The more Yan Huaian looked at him, the more every movement stirred a heart-stopping sense of familiarity.
"A Huan, where are you planning to leave me this time?"
"I won't leave again. You are where I belong."

A little historical danmei idea that came to me out of nowhere. Set in an entirely fictional world, with a mountain of changes to the original setting.
If you're interested, feel free to add it to your collection~
