On the day he inherited Gotham's second-largest family, Gerald was knocked unconscious with a sap.
He wasn't surprised to be kidnapped. After all, whenever his relatives came to "visit," they brought 18 bodyguards, and Batman showed up on his roof more often than the milkman.
Gerald had long realized there was something unusual about his identity.
The person who kidnapped him was his uncle, the Penguin. Gerald had no idea his uncle was behind it.
But Gerald had a secret: he had a golden finger called Sanguosha. He'd never been in danger before, so he'd never had the chance to use it.
When Gerald woke up, he saw Batman and Nightwing beating up his uncle.
To save his uncle's hide, Gerald immediately activated Diao Chan's skill, forcing two male heroes to duel.
He pointed at Batman and Nightwing and screamed at the top of his lungs: "You and you, fight!"
Batman and Nightwing: ...
After that, Gerald was knocked unconscious again. When he woke up, Bruce Wayne was looking at him with a complicated expression.
Gerald: "That was close. I almost got kidnapped by Batman."
Wayne: "...Is it possible Batman was trying to save you?"
Gerald: "No way! Everyone in my family is evil! Right, Uncle?"
Wayne: .
Gerald: "By the way, where's my cousin?"
His cousin, Nightwing, had lost the duel to Batman and taken a punch. He still hadn't woken up.
The family ledger proved it: every member of the Vittoria family really was evil. Gotham had thousands of villains, and the Vittorias owed money to half of them.
Holding a ledger of IOUs as thick as The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Gerald genuinely felt that his life was secure.
To avoid bringing shame upon his family, he knocked on the richest man's door late at night. "Uncle, teach me how to become a top-tier supervillain!"
Wayne was silent for a moment. "I'm not a criminal."
Gerald winked at Wayne. "You're the only one in all of Gotham whose vault has never been robbed. We all know what that means."
Wayne: ...
The next day, the Gotham tabloid's headline read: "Shock! Wayne's Nephew Is a Succubus."
The evidence was supposedly irrefutable: he could make Batman and Nightwing, father and son, fight each other; hang off Batman, suck his blood, and hand him a Green Dragon Crescent Blade; and even slap a Le Bu Si Shu card on a villain. The kidnapper, with the blade at his throat, laughed and cried at once: "He really hung off Batman and healed by sucking his blood!"
When his creditors showed up at the door brandishing cleavers, Gerald pulled out his Sanguosha cards. "Fancy a thrilling game of Gwent... I mean, Sanguosha?"
The creditors took their seats. "Nobody in our gang can beat me at Sanguosha."
The latest hiring criteria at Arkham's job market: applicants who can win three Sanguosha games in a row get priority.
In his study, Batman, overwhelmed with problems, quietly added a new chapter to his Guide to Counseling Adolescents: "When Your Nephew Thinks the Whole Family Are Villains."
