Cool Moon Toad

[Cool and Serene Bodhisattva Master x Gentle, Abandoned Puppy Disciple]

[Angst and Regret]

Wen Chanliang was born with a pair of cursed eyes. Anyone she looked directly at would suffer a disaster.

The villagers called her a demoness, an ill omen.

So she covered her eyes with black cloth and was afraid to look at anyone.

One day, as the villagers bound her to sacrifice her to Heaven, a beautiful woman in white descended from the sky.

A vermilion mark sat between the beauty's brows, making her seem like a bodhisattva. She held Wen Chanliang in her arms, untied the ribbon covering her eyes, and said gently, "Lift your head and look at me."

Meng Chiyan: "Call me Master."

Later, on an altar taller and grander than the village's, Meng Chiyan killed her with a single sword strike.

"A-Nian, you shouldn't die in some desolate village. Dying here to save all living beings is a death worthy of you."

Wen Chanliang stared at her in a daze, blood soaking her clothes.

Later, Wen Chanliang faked her death and fled a thousand li away, where she lived a carefree life like an immortal.

She had a pair of eyes that looked at people with gentle compassion.

Every girl clamored to become her concubine.

She had long since forgotten.

That compassionate jade-faced bodhisattva, Meng Chiyan, was now like a walking corpse, seemingly driven mad.
