The good news: Zheng Yajing got married.
The bad news: Zheng Yajing got married.
When he saw the wedding invitation on his phone, Quan Zhilong nearly fainted because the breath he'd been holding wouldn't go down.
Zheng Yajing's life goal was to earn five billion won, about fifty million RMB, and then retire. She would stop at nothing to get there, and in the end, she succeeded... in getting stabbed to death by the wife of the man she was accused of having an affair with.
Don't get the wrong idea. She wasn't a mistress. She was paid to play one. She and her client staged an affair to help him get a divorce. She hadn't expected his wife to be so direct: she grabbed Zheng Yajing by the hair and stabbed her.
What a lousy deal. She was paid fifty thousand yuan. Why had she risked her life for that? Zheng Yajing was so angry her hands trembled.
When she opened her eyes again, she was back in high school, during her trainee days at YG.
Looking at the future superstar within arm's reach, Zheng Yajing couldn't help reaching out to him.
A note: The female lead gets married after graduating from university, but it's a sham marriage with her client. He pays her a monthly salary, and they hardly ever see each other. They hold a large wedding, so everyone around her knows she's married, but they never actually register the marriage behind the scenes. To the female lead, the wedding is just acting; she signed a contract and gets paid. So she isn't cheating on her husband. However, only she and her "husband" know the marriage is fake, and they can't let anyone else find out. That means Quan Zhilong believes she's married the entire time.
Content warnings: The female lead doesn't get divorced until after Quan Zhilong is discharged from the military. The leads are each other's first love and first time, but after their breakup, each has an eventful love life of their own.
The female lead has a bit of a troublemaker streak. She likes watching people become infatuated with her, then leaving them hanging and watching them suffer. She's not nice to Quan. This is not a story about spoiling him (emphasis added). There are plenty of stories on JJ that spoil him, so feel free to look for those if that's what you like. I won't be writing that kind of story, so don't read this if you mind.
The female lead follows an acting career and will appear in some real-life hit dramas, though she won't act in many productions; she's going for a mysterious-goddess image. She's extremely popular, using a pure, innocent-looking face to win over everyone, men and women alike. During the years Quan is in the military, the female lead will have the most gossip surrounding her, involving the love and hate of a chaebol family, and the most complicated and tumultuous romantic life. She'll have relationships with both men and women, though the women aren't romantic partners, so this isn't a multi-orientation story. The female lead is heterosexual.
This story is all about getting entangled again and again, a melodramatic and painful romance that doesn't hurt the female lead much but does hurt the male lead a little, flirtatious tenderness, endless push and pull, and ravenous passion (?). He'll be so thoroughly hooked that his mouth will pucker up, and in the end, that guy will bring them back together after breaking up, and they'll finally find happiness together.
This story is also known as: "Your Wife Smells So Good," "After Becoming Quan Zhilong's First Love, I Married Someone Else," "The Years I Stirred Up Trouble in a Chaebol Family," and "Those Years I Secretly Dated a Superstar" (struck through).
The character card illustration is of the female lead, which I commissioned at great (small) expense. I didn't commission one of the male lead. Surely anyone reading this knows what he looks like, right? Probably?
This is my third full-length fanfiction about Quan Someone, and it should be my last (unless I suddenly get a plot bunny I really, really, really want to write, but that's highly unlikely). Hope you enjoy the story, everyone.
