In order to meet the needs of socialist modernization and encourage self-study, my country established a self-study examination system for higher education in the early 1980s. The higher education self-study examination is a form of higher education that combines individual self-study, social assistance and national examinations. Candidates who pass the prescribed professional examination courses and meet the graduation requirements through ideological and moral evaluation can obtain a graduation certificate; the state recognizes their academic qualifications and enjoys the same relevant treatment as ordinary college graduates in accordance with regulations. After nearly 30 years of development, the higher education self-study examination has cultivated a large number of specialized talents for the country.
