Because of what happened to Jiang Jianyuan’s leg, he felt guilty toward Liang Yiran. He kept sending her gifts and bringing over the children of his relatives and friends to take piano lessons from her. It was almost becoming a burden.

The neighbors kept asking about it, and Liang Yiran was at her wit’s end.

One day, an unfamiliar man came to visit. At the time, Liang Yiran was carrying apples, a huge bundle of celery and garlic shoots, and other daily necessities. Leaning on her crutch, she struggled through the large iron gate at the entrance to the courtyard.

He stood beside his car and asked, “Are you Miss Liang? I’m Jiang Jianyuan’s older brother, Jiang Jianzhi.”
