The Mori Family's Special-Grade Cursed Spirit: Mom

In second grade, after her parents separated, Xiaolan received a doll that looked just like her. Its eyes were made of buttons, and a key hung around its neck.

At first, Xiaolan had no idea what the key was for. Then a large water stain appeared on the wall in the living room of the Mao family home. When they broke open the wall, they found a small locked door inside.

That night, Xiaolan dreamed of the door. Behind it was a passage leading to another home of hers.

The mother in her dream looked just like her real mother, except the other mother's eyes were black buttons, just like her doll's.

Later, Xiaolan discovered that the world behind the door wasn't a dream, and learned that cursed spirits existed.

To protect her other mother from the cursed spirits, and not just her other mother, but many other people too, Xiaolan was willing to let the other mother sew buttons over her eyes.

After she gained the ability to see cursed spirits, Xiaolan met

Geto, who thought he was a chosen trainer and treated cursed spirits like Pokémon; Gojo, who insisted on transferring to Teitan and immediately butted heads with Shinichi; and Shoko, whose true personality came out after she was placed under strict supervision and transferred to Teitan.

Toji, who accepted schooling after being successfully persuaded, saw the light, returned to the Zenin family, and launched sweeping reforms; and Naoya, who endured two transfers before Sonoko and Momiji teamed up to reshape his personality.

A mysterious silver-haired man, a foreign blue-haired agent, and a black cat that appeared and disappeared at will and could speak human language...
