Ye Xier watches the weather forecast at the same time every day, as she's done for ten years.
But she doesn't watch the forecast for France, where she lives.
The weather forecast says: Tomorrow will be sunny in Hong Kong.
The weather forecast says: Tomorrow afternoon will be sunny at times in Hong Kong.
The weather forecast says: Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy in Hong Kong, with one or two brief showers.
Her friend knows there's someone in her heart and tries to comfort her. "You're looking at the same moon."
Ye Xier lowers her eyes, looking dejected. "It's daytime on Hong Kong Island right now. He can't see the moon where I am."

Today, a Number 8 typhoon signal is up in Hong Kong. People hurry along the streets, traffic clogs the roads, and headlights shine down the whole block.
Ye Xier buys dinner and hurries home.
Someone stands rigidly in the narrow entrance beneath the tenement building, completely motionless.
She says, "Excuse me, could you let me through?"
The person still doesn't move.
Impatient, she looks up, thinking it must be another unreasonable neighbor.
The moment their eyes meet, she jumps in fright and drops the corn in her hand.
Before she can react, the other person bends to pick it up.
"This is all you're having for dinner?" He blocks the doorway, looking down at her.
She doesn't want to say much. "I'm dieting."
"You never used to diet."
"People change."
His expression suddenly shifts, and his voice turns cold.
"I've even come up with an excuse for you living here: for the life experience, right?"
At the end of her patience, she calls him by name. "Gu Cun Zhi, how I live has nothing to do with you."
The tension in his cold face gives way to a smile. Gu Cun Zhi raises an eyebrow.
"I thought you didn't remember my name."
Ye Xier doesn't want to keep dealing with him, so she turns to leave.
He catches her by the wrist. She can feel him approaching from behind.
"You left for ten years. You really are heartless."
[If I hadn't come looking for you, would we ever have seen each other again?]
