As Mewltus passed by a blue planet, she saw a sight she would never forget:
A group of creatures in different colors and sizes, all soft and fluffy, with two soft little horns on their heads and parasitic organisms of varying lengths attached at their rear ends!
Some flew through the sky above the planet, some swam through the flowing blue substance, and most scampered about on the planet's surface...
They were just so adorable!!
Mewltus couldn't tear her eyes away from them. She watched them fight and bite each other, watched them groom one another, and even descended onto the planet for their sake. That's how she learned that these adorable little creatures were called cats.
If nothing unexpected happened, Mewltus would watch over her beloved cats forever. That was, until one day, a battered black-and-white cat was nearly killed when a strong human male, three times its size and covered in tubes, snapped its spine.
Mewltus thought, This can't go on.
She couldn't bear to see the cat suffer like that, so she immediately took it home.
Then she brought home a Maine Coon.
Then a Bombay cat.
Mewltus brought nearly every cat on Earth home with her. Though they were strays used to their freedom, and got a little stressed at first, Mewltus wasn't worried about getting hurt by them.
She believed the kitties would all come to love her. It was only a matter of time.

Green Lantern: Damn it, what star system is this? I can't get through to Oa!
The Flash: At least the food here isn't bad... Ha...
Green Lantern: We've turned into cats, but we're not actually cats! Bear, I'm a little worried about what's happening to Earth.
Superman: Maybe we can talk to her? Wait, B?! You're here? I need to tell Alfred and Dick right away!
Some time later.
Regime Batman: ...? Where is this?
Batman: I told you to be careful around her.
Some more time later.
The Batman Who Laughs: Oh, wow, this place really is "paradise"!
Drowned: Shut up, or I'll shut you up.
And Mewltus, the "culprit," happily gazes at the fluffy bundles all over her home, swearing to protect these kitties forever and keep them safe from physical and emotional pain!
Warnings:
1. The female lead is an eldritch god, but there probably won't be any other related Lovecraftian elements.
2. The "cats" are human-sized, but after the female lead takes them home, they become the size of ordinary cats.
