The Shameless Big Sister of the Eighties

Who is Ye Baozhu?

The neighborhood tough of Deying Street!

At just five feet three, she was still enough to keep the young men on the street from causing trouble.

When she announced she was heading to the countryside, the whole street was in an uproar, sending her off with gongs and drums.

But after only a few years of the good life, she came back.

And she didn't come back alone. She brought along a whole string of six-foot-plus hunks.

Ye Baozhu was the first child her parents had hoped for over five years.

While her mother was pregnant, a blind fortune-teller told them, "No matter how many sons you have, it's the child in your belly now who'll take care of you in your old age."

Who knew if it was true? In any case, the couple went on to have six sons.

They thought their first daughter would bring them good fortune, so they named her Baozhu and doted on her endlessly. Even if they had only one egg, it was set aside just for her, while her brothers could only watch.

Their favoritism continued year after year, never changing, until their daughter went to the countryside.

Now Ye Baozhu was back, and her parents' bias kicked in again. Her father even took early medical retirement and gave her his job.

The neighbors all laughed at the old couple for not knowing where their loyalties belonged.

But within a few months, Ye Baozhu became a construction foreman.

A few months after that, she bought a big house and moved her parents in with her.
