Give a Capybara a Loving Leopard Hug

Qi Miao, a laid-back college student, woke up one day reincarnated as a capybara on the great grassland.

Yes, a capybara.

Being human? Fine.

Being a capybara? That works, too.

Either way, he could lie flat, eat his fill, and wait around to die.

-

Capybaras are the most popular animals on the great grassland.

They're emotionally stable, easy to bully, and topple over with a single shove.

Even their, ahem, unspeakable parts are a delicacy to other animals.

Qi Miao's daily capybara routine is to find a cool waterhole and soak himself in it.

When he goes out, he calls a Crocodile Me food delivery truck to use as a ride. Oh, and sometimes he flies on a pelican.

When he's hungry, he munches on some grass. Monkeys and squirrels in the trees sometimes pick berries and toss them to him.

What should he do when he gets sleepy while eating? Obviously, go to bed wherever he happens to be eating.

His little life is gloriously lazy and utterly fulfilling.

-

Capybaras aren't afraid of dying.

But capybaras are afraid of pain, too.

After being pinned under a fluffy leopard paw for the umpteenth time, Qi Miao couldn't outrun the leopard. Whatever. He couldn't be bothered to struggle anymore.

He stretched out all four legs, closed his eyes, and peacefully tilted his head back to expose his throat.

“You can eat me, but be gentle, okay?”

The leopard flicked its long tail and licked its lips with its rough, heavy tongue.

It promised the capybara, “Okay.”

Then it picked him up by the scruff and took him home to enjoy.

The next day, Qi Miao covered his bottom with one paw and climbed painfully out of the leopard's den, tears in his eyes.

...Is that how you eat someone?

You weren't gentle at all!

Well, whatever. That works, too.
