Duan Yan and Zhao Jiangsheng are childhood friends. They grow up together and fall in love, but because of society's prejudice, Zhao Jiangsheng can't promise Duan Yan a future. This leaves Duan Yan insecure, giving Lian Chaofeng the chance to exploit his looks and family background to come between them. He moves in with them and undermines their relationship, making their conflicts grow ever more intense.
