Tan Changting picked up a flyer that said he could get paid to bear a child for an Alliance general. So he signed up for the money, and ended up getting pregnant. Then, somehow, he got himself hitched to the general too.

Tan Changting took it all in stride: Well, might as well get married.

But as soon as the baby was born, he ran away.

Why, you ask?

Tan, the fugitive, says: The general's no good in bed.

Later, Tan Changting sneaked back to see the baby and its father, and discovered that the general really wasn't doing so well. The Alliance was practically bullying the life out of a full-fledged general.

Mr. Tan, a good-hearted citizen, was furious and heartbroken!

So he deliberately let himself get caught, then tossed a bomb into the Alliance administration building and made a daring escape with the general and their child.

Mr. Tan, good-hearted citizen, strode along with a spring in his step and laughed out loud amid the explosions: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Take that, you bunch of idiots!

[Gong's POV]

Before meeting Tan Changting, Lu Ze was known as a 'monster' and a 'cold-blooded robot.' In short, he wasn't normal.

Because he never showed any emotion.

Then Tan Changting came along. The beta who had married him because of the baby went from being reserved to spoiled beyond all reason, and everything he did chipped away at Lu Ze's icy mask.

Just when the mask finally shattered, Tan Changting suddenly disappeared.

Lu Ze searched for him for a long time, then discovered that he would sneak back to visit their child. So Lu Ze began playing the victim. Under the Alliance's pressure, he yielded at every turn, until it looked as though he had been bullied into a corner with nowhere left to go.

At last, Tan Changting couldn't bear it anymore and showed up.

He yelled at Lu Ze for being an idiot, then angrily blew up the Alliance building and fled with him and their child.

Lu Ze watched Tan Changting's carefree, radiant smile, and felt the shackles around him vanish completely. He laughed along with Tan Changting and confessed behind them, amid the unending explosions: I love you.

[Bonus scene]

After everything had settled down, Lu Ze and Tan Changting left all the work to their child and went off to enjoy some time alone together.

Having lost him once, Lu Ze was willing to grant Tan Changting anything he asked for.

Tan Changting wanted him to raid a bird's nest, and Lu Ze scampered up a tree.

Tan Changting wanted fish from the creek, and Lu Ze scampered down to catch some.

Tan Changting missed their child, and Lu Ze scampered off to fetch the child, who was busy dealing with official business.

The child stared in bewilderment: ?

Tan Changting marveled: He's so obedient.

Then Tan Changting got a mischievous idea and said, I want to go have drinks with some young alphas.

Lu Ze locked the doors and windows and stared at him: Say that again.

Tan Changting: ...Sorry, I was wrong.
