He confessed, then got rejected.
He brought breakfast, and someone else ate it.
He got him lunch, and got an eye roll in return.
He could put up with all that. Forgive him? He'd have to put up with that too.
Anyway, he didn't like the top student, but he still wanted the top student to like him.
Oh, the top student's name was Wen He.
They weren't close, and they had no history.
At first
Yan Xi: Can't you like me just a little?
Wen He: No.
Yan Xi: Would you die?
Wen He: Yes.
Later on
Yan Xi: What would you like, sir?
Wen He: Sprite, with 70% ice.
Yan Xi: Do you like me a little more today?
Wen He: A little, I guess.
After all his effort, Yan Xi felt like he had been playing a long-running character-building game. He had finally gotten the approval rating of the NPC named Wen He to a passing grade, but now he was hesitating. He called his childhood friend.
"Do you think what I'm doing is kind of unethical? He did bully me before, sure, but now that I've gotten to know him, he's not bad. Maybe I should stop while I'm ahead."
But the very next day, just when Yan Xi had prepared what to say, Wen He confessed to him instead?!
