The Interstellar Fleet's First Captain

One moment Su Xing was taking part in fleet maneuvers; the next, she'd fallen into the poorest pirate den in the galaxy.

She started with one battered ship, and half of it had blown up while they were fleeing.

Su Xing: …

From a promising, exemplary first captain to a penniless, wanted criminal in the galaxy.

With the military academy admissions coming up, Su Xing packed her little bundle and ran in the middle of the night. Who'd want to be a wanted criminal? Obviously, she was going to captain a starship!

When she got to the academy, Su Xing was stunned.

Was this really the legendary Northern Fleet Department, famed for its glorious record, routinely winning against overwhelming odds, and chasing enemies until they howled? She was the only student in the entire department!

After decades of decline, the Northern Military Academy's Fleet Department finally had its first new student. The department, whose teaching materials were rumored to be nothing but scrap metal, had finally received an applicant, and the other major military academies came to gawk.

Imperial Military Academy's Infantry Department: Hilarious. You might not believe this, but the famous Northern Military Academy Fleet Department has "fleet" in its name and "infantry" in its game. There's only one person in the whole department, plus a pile of shipwrecks. What a sorry sight.

Alliance Military Academy's Command Department: Are you kidding me? What are you going to command in battle? One skinny little commander all by herself?

Su Xing silently hugged her toolbox and plunged into the repair workshop.

Half a month later, a brand-new starship model appeared in the exhibition hall.

The other academies: That's it? Are you planning to beat the enemy to death with a toy?

Su Xing didn't argue. She went right back to shutting herself in the workshop.

At the joint exercises between the major military academies, the once-glorious Northern Military Academy Fleet Department still had no one taking the field. They could only endure the mockery in silence.

The other students were used to it. "A hero at the end of the road, huh? It's fine. At least, back in that historic battle, you... you... What the hell is that thing?!"

A brand-new starship, unlike anything the Federation had ever seen, burst through the starry sea with irresistible force. In that moment, everyone thought they were seeing the Northern Fleet return in glory.

But everyone knew that was impossible.

In the command room, Su Xing remained calm. "Nothing is impossible. I'll show you what a real starship is."

Later...

Imperial Military Academy: Holy crap, did you hear? The entire Northern Fleet Department signed up for the joint exercises!

Federation Military Academy: I also heard the entire Northern Fleet Department are pirates, and their captain, Su Xing, is the pirate chief...

Northern Military Academy: Thanks. We've all returned as champions.
