I Heard You've Been Telling Everyone I'm Dead

When superstar Mu Zhao first debuted, he was so unknown that nobody could find a trace of him. He got together with a doctor and was openly in love.

One late night,

Mu Zhao returned from a drinking party and saw Xiang Huaiming, who was supposed to be on duty at the hospital.

They hadn't seen each other for days, and before they could share a tender moment, Mu Zhao was slapped with a stack of secretly taken photos.

They had a huge fight and parted on bad terms.

-

The first time they met again, five years after breaking up, Mu Zhao was lying on a stretcher, the blood soaking through half his costume.

After handing him over to the ambulance doctor, Xiang Huaiming, usually the picture of calm, tremblingly took out his phone and called his mentor to perform the surgery.

Before the operation began, Dr. Xiang, who had claimed to be single ever since Mu Zhao was admitted, solemnly said to his teacher, "Please take care of my partner."

-

Mu Zhao was a top-tier star, but reporters never asked him about his love life.

That was because, just as he was becoming famous, fans dug up an old interview.

"Zhaozhao, your character in this drama keeps breaking up and getting back together with their ex. Have you ever had an ex in real life? Did you stay in touch after you broke up?"

Mu Zhao listened, then froze for a few seconds before answering, "Yes, but he's dead."

-

When the anesthetic wore off, Mu Zhao woke up to find his ex of five years standing before him in a spotless white coat. The first thing he said was, "I heard you've been telling everyone I'm dead?"

Mu Zhao was too slow to react. Before he could think of a comeback, someone pressed a fierce kiss to his dry lips.

Xiang Huaiming's deep voice sounded in his ear. "Don't worry, Zhaozhao. Even if I turn into a ghost, I'll haunt you, especially at midnight."

The three greatest joys in life: reuniting with your lover after a long separation, finding out a surgery was a false alarm, and holding tightly to the person before you, someone you lost and found again.
