Sis, Comfort Me

Zhu Yining first met An Sheng at her eighteenth birthday banquet.

At the time, she was the beloved little princess of the Zhu family, radiant and elegant, as if she belonged to another world, the brightest star in the night sky.

An Sheng, meanwhile, had just been found by the An family. She was a mere foil for their younger daughter, An Yun, and a tool for making money for the family.

Even then, An Sheng already showed the traits she would have later: calm and restrained, distant and detached toward others, as though a chasm separated her from everyone.

Zhu Yining thought that getting along with someone like her would surely be dull, not even a fraction as enjoyable as being with An Yun.

A proud little princess had no interest in befriending someone dull.

They met for the second time at the university orientation ceremony when Zhu Yining, after dying in an accident, was reborn at twenty.

By then, the former little princess had shattered into pieces. Zhu Yining's only obsession after returning to life was to avenge her past self.

An Sheng was her senior, a well-known figure on campus. She stood onstage giving a speech while people around them chattered on about how, at such a young age, Senior An Sheng had helped the An family put things back in order and return to the top.

Zhu Yining felt envy, and with it came jealousy.

How could someone like that have been born into the An family?

She would never forget the triumphant smile on An Yun's pure-looking face just before her death in her previous life.

So she deliberately approached An Sheng.

She would seduce her. She would make her belong to her alone.

And later, Zhu Yining succeeded.

Only, she never expected that An Sheng, so cold on the outside, would be so hot within.
