Lin Yan transmigrates into an unruly romance game and becomes Lin Yan, one of the male leads and the most popular guy on campus. A System claiming to be from the “Game Protection Association” tells him that in this topsy-turvy game, the male lead has to win over the player. He must defeat his romantic rivals and claim the top spot if he wants to return to reality.

Lin Yan, brimming with confidence: “I know this one! I should play the hero!”
The System announces the result with complete seriousness: “[Wife]'s affection for you has decreased by 5.”
Lin Yan is baffled: “??? Why?”
System: “You're no match for the thugs. [Wife] glanced at you and said, ‘Senior, when you're out and about, it's more important to look after yourself first,’ then beat the thugs up herself.”
Lin Yan is stunned: “...What a trash game!”
And then there's the spectacular backfire when Lin Yan tries to outmaneuver Lu Huaizhou and gets outmaneuvered instead:
Lin Yan: “Give me a promotion, a raise, and the general manager position, and I'll tell you my secret.”
Lu Huaizhou: “Fine. Then let's get married.”
