The incense offerings in the fortune-telling world could be measured in a single picul. MBTI and tarot took up eight tenths, Zi Wei astrology and the zodiac each took up one tenth, while the Twelve Zodiac Gods received almost nothing. To save their incense offerings, the Immortal Lord kicked this bunch of fluffy creatures down to the mortal realm.

Immortal Lord: Cats have become the rulers of humanity. You lot still need to work harder.

Great Senior Cat: When you're out in the world, the most important thing is to get out there.

Great Senior Cat: Think of it as saving your incense offerings. Take human form and come join my dating show.

Bai Yang was the least experienced of the Twelve Zodiac Gods, the Sheep God. He hadn't even taken human form when he ascended, and grew up entirely thanks to the big white tiger covered in scars from the neighboring palace, Dongfang Kai, who brought him immortal herbs and groomed his fur.

After Bai Yang took human form and started making the rounds among the various gods, he noticed that the native gods always looked at him with meaningful expressions.

"You and the Tiger God are a little too Westernized in your thinking," said the forthright young Monkey Goddess.

Bai Yang had a sudden inspiration and went to make friends in the West. One of them had goat horns and looked a bit like him. The Westerners called him an "incubus."

"Wow, little Eastern gods are so reserved." The incubus, whose horns resembled Bai Yang's, pinched his cheek.

"The Zodiac Gods were cutting costs and boosting efficiency before. You stayed behind for the Tiger God and willingly gave up your divine status."

"Now the entire Zodiac Gods department is almost gone, and you still haven't gotten together?"

Immortal Lord: Young gods are so bashful.

Bai Yang: Old man, the incense offerings are low, so you're trying to use the ban on nepotism to get rid of me or the Tiger God, aren't you?

Dongfang Kai: (slaps his resignation letter on the Immortal Lord's desk) I'm leaving.

[Notice]: This is a lighthearted, anything-goes premise. It is a parallel-world what-if story for Raising Six Unhinged Sentinel-Guides with Sea Turtle Soup, but you don't need to read the original to enjoy this one.

Don't read too much into the plot. The author deliberately isn't focusing on the serious stuff.

Theme: Thrive through sunshine and rain.
