Jian Zhen, once an animator, died one sleepless night while making a video, after enduring online harassment, losing a loved one, and being bullied at work.
Fortunately, the System gave him a chance to come back to life.
[Spread what you witness in another world to the main world. The more people who like it, the better.]
“Deal.”
The System knew the other world and possessed immense power. It could make Jian Zhen's travels there easier, but it never spoke while they were in that world.
Abnormality meant secrets. As Jian Zhen did his best to fulfill his deal with the System, he also kept observing and deducing.
In the other world, he took on different identities, traveled and went on adventures, leaving his mark behind.
He became the human Chang San, saving someone crucial, carrying out a crucial task, and changing Yingxing's fate.
He became the heliobus Chao Feng, devouring the Flame Emperor's nightmares and preventing a disaster from befalling the Zhuming Xianzhou.
He became the intelligent machine Tuguo. Its very existence answered the question of the origin and continuation of life and the universe, drawing the attention of Screwllum.
In the main world, Jian Zhen revived his account, “Yihe,” and kept releasing animations at an astonishing pace and quality.
With ten thousand followers, he released a series of short animations with Hollywood-level production values.
With a hundred thousand followers, he suddenly collaborated with a popular game, igniting a public-relations war between major game companies.
A million followers, ten million followers...
MCN agencies scrambled to make offers, animation and game companies tried to recruit him with top-tier deals, and goodwill came from across the ocean...
Only Min Factory was truly considerate. The proposal they offered helped him with his urgent needs, and the partnership was perfect.
Until Xiao Liu, his point of contact, said, “Yihe, some of the designs in this animation seem to overlap with content we're developing for our game.”
Huh? Could someone else have gone to the other world, too?
A few things to note:
1. The pairing is Screwllum x Jian Zhen.
2. “Yihe” is Jian Zhen's online account.
3. Jian Zhen has multiple secret identities in the Honkai: Star Rail world. Only a handful of people have guessed the truth, and most people won't discover his identities.
4. Everything serves the plot. The main world and the other world are both heavily fictionalized, and you don't need to have played the game to enjoy the story.
