An Unqualified Protagonist

"There are more and more beings traveling through time and space," an unknown god mused. "And they're becoming more and more well-behaved." The god looked at the worlds on the brink of destruction because of transmigrators acting recklessly, and spoke with an inscrutable expression.

Another god laughed. "Why so serious? Want to see something entertaining? Just pick a being and toss it into another world." "Ah, that's not quite right," another god said. "We are righteous gods, not evil spirits. How could we tamper with the world's timeline?"

"We can," the first god suddenly said. "We can't invade a world, but we can save one." "Save a world?" the other two echoed. The third god immediately caught on and followed the first god's gaze toward the worlds on the brink of destruction.

"Then here's the question: what sort of being should we choose as the hero of our story, the one who will save the world?" The second god mused. "No need to look. I have one ready." As the first god spoke, it gathered the countless scraps of transmigrators' souls and declared, "This will be our protagonist."

"In that case, I'll give it a soul lantern to keep its heart from falling to evil," the third god said compassionately. "Then I'll give it a World Seed, so its growth won't be limited by its inborn nature," the second god said, always eager to watch the show.

"Then I'll give it companionship, so it won't have to suffer from loneliness and isolation." The first god cast the resentment, already beginning to give birth to life, into the chaos. "Now, let us wait for our protagonist to give us a splendid story."
