Reader's guide:

1. This story is 80% romance and 20% plot. The plot is there to add variety and make the meal more satisfying. At its heart, this is a melodramatic romance.

2. Older woman-younger man romance. They were former stepsiblings with no blood relation. By the time the leads got together, they were no longer registered in the same household.

3. It's a reimagining of the sentinel-guide genre, and a very heavy one. The whole world revolves around the heroine. The heroine is the king of the world.

4. The heroine isn't perfect: she's vain, lustful, and mean. The hero isn't perfect either. There's a possible body-double trope, and he's torn between the heroine's two identities. If either of these bothers you, hit X and leave.
