This Beta Is So Fierce

Qiao Xi is a beta. His genes aren't as good as an alpha's, and society treats him worse than an omega, but he thinks that's great because he hates being ruled by the instincts driven by pheromones.

After transferring to a new school, Qiao Xi vows to be a model student, but not long after enrolling, he gets into trouble, and an alpha sees him.

The alpha is a well-known figure at school, named Mu Ze. He is handsome and comes from a good family. Most of the omegas at school have a crush on him, and he receives so many love letters he can barely keep up. But he has a bad temper, and few people dare cross him.

Qiao Xi tries to leave as if nothing happened, but someone blocks his way. When he meets the other's smile, the alpha teases him: "Well, well, getting into a fight, model student?"

Later, people notice that Mu Ze and Qiao Xi seem to get along pretty well. They think the two have become friends, but before long, they see Qiao Xi slap Mu Ze in front of everyone.

Everyone is horrified and rushes over to break up the fight, only to hear Mu Ze himself say, sounding a little aggrieved, "I really was wrong. Don't be mad. Does your hand hurt?"

"Tsk..."

Everyone stares, then turns their shocked gazes away.

With all eyes on him, Qiao Xi suppresses his temper and leaves. But after evening study hall, despite deliberately taking a route to avoid people, he is still caught by Mu Ze.

Mu Ze pulls him into a corner, pins his shoulders, and leans in with a plaintive murmur.

"Qiao Xi, I feel awful."

Qiao Xi clenches his fist, grabs the other's chin, and pushes him back. "What the hell do you mean, you feel awful? Are you a dog? I told you I'm not an omega. If you're feeling awful, find someone else. Don't go into heat around me."

Mu Ze pouts and pulls him close. "So what if you're a beta? You're so mean."

Then he gazes at Qiao Xi, looking utterly pitiful, the corners of his eyes red from holding back.

"I've already had three strong suppressants. The shots hurt so much. Can you let me hold you for a bit? I'll only hold you. I won't go too far unless you say yes."

Qiao Xi says nothing. He lowers his head and lets go.

The little follower standing nearby laughs coldly to himself, remembering what he saw earlier.
