A proud imperial daughter with a free-spirited nature
x
A poor demon lord pretending to be carefree
Ming Song has been a loner since childhood. Even in a crowd, she's the least noticeable person there.
She always lowers her head and stares into space for hours at a time. Her fellow disciples say Ming Song is a mute, wooden sort, which is why the Azure Sun Emperor drove her out of his home.
That's more or less the truth. After enduring a life of "Father doesn't love me, Mother doesn't care, and my older brothers ignore me" for so long, being kicked out was a good thing.
She spent a hundred quiet years at Fangwai Mountain. The boldest thing she ever did was confess her feelings to her moon-bright senior brother, Bai Xuan, in front of everyone.
As expected, Bai Xuan politely turned her down.
Later, demonic spies infiltrated the mountain and captured two unlucky people, trying to force Emperor Xuanming to release the great demon Xue Yu.
The emperor was away, so Bai Xuan was in charge of everything.
One of the two unlucky captives was Qi Wu, the beloved junior sister. The other was her.
Bai Xuan didn't choose to save her first, and her father never came for her either. Unable to force Xuanming's hand, the demons threw her into the Ten Thousand Demons Array, saying she was an offering to feed the great demon.
After centuries of misfortune, the unlucky one was finally about to lose her life.
Ming Song thought it over, yet felt strangely calm inside.
But Xue Yu didn't kill her.
He said she had suffered too much and wouldn't taste good, so he'd make her happy first and then decide whether to eat her.
It was a lovely thing to say, honey on the tongue and a sword in the heart. It made her sick.
Ming Song thought the great demon was a fox. He seemed easygoing, but must be sly and sinister inside, with nothing but lies coming out of his mouth.
She would tear away his disguise and expose the trap hidden in his tenderness toward her.
Later, she succeeded...
But the fox was holding a sincere heart in his hands, too.
Before You Read:
1. Mutual devotion, romance-focused.
2. There are no misunderstandings between the couple. I think it's sweeter than it is angsty.
3. Yu is the younger one, with a puppy-like personality.
Theme: She receives love and hate; time shows no mercy
