[Renamed, but the premise is the same]
Years later, another new show breaks ratings records, and its bit-part character is named Best Actor.
In an unknown world made up of TV dramas, the show's director, cameraman, and newly crowned Best Actor hold an emergency meeting to figure out why a minor character has suddenly become absurdly overpowered, turning into the protagonist's nightmare, the villain's inspiration, the mastermind behind the scenes, and countless other ridiculous roles, throwing the plot into complete chaos!
Bit-Part Character: "First, we need to ask why the director added scenes for me halfway through! By the way, Director, now that I'm Best Actor, am I getting a raise?"
Director: "None of the three of us is getting a raise! Cameraman, you tell us: why did you keep pointing the camera at the bit-part character, forcing me to make up a plot?"
Cameraman: "Every viewer is talking about the bit-part character. How could I not film her? And you, Bit-Part Character, why did you get so into acting in the show?"
Bit-Part Character: "Because the director gave me a new script! Why did you add scenes for me halfway through, Director? By the way, now that I'm Best Actor, am I getting a raise?"
Director: "None of the three of us is getting a rai- No, wait! Forget it, let's stop discussing this. Bit-Part Character, hide yourself in the background in the next show. Cameraman, keep your camera under control so the Law of Audience Attention* doesn't strike again. Meeting adjourned!"
(Law of Audience Attention: The number of shots a character gets is tied to how much attention the audience pays. Characters the audience cares about get more screen time.)
The bit-part character and the cameraman wholeheartedly agreed, took their scripts, and got to work.
When the second show premiered, the live comments exploded:
[Director, why is our Su He playing a bit-part character? She was the mastermind behind everything in the last show! She has to be an important character at the very least! How dare you waste a Best Actor like this? Your career is over!]
[This is a setup, discrimination, targeted harassment! Beavers, are we just going to let this slide?!]
Cameraman: "This is bad, this is bad! The Law of Audience Attention is kicking in, and my camera's about to drift again! Su He, get your fans under control. They're demanding more scenes like crazy!"
Bit-Part Character: "I'm a fictional character. Do I have to take responsibility for my fans' behavior too? Director, what am I supposed to play? Give me the script!"
The director tore up the eight-hundred-page script he'd written, tears welling before he could speak. "I hate every one of you."
Only the fans returned home triumphant, carrying the massive number of scenes they'd fought tooth and nail to secure. They were all very pleased: Another successful day of protecting our idol~
.
P.S. The protagonist is the bit-part character, Su He.
