Eight hundred years ago, Her Majesty Meng Linhuang, empress of the Sheng Dynasty, issued an edict forbidding the people of her realm from indiscriminately hunting and killing demons. Ambitious and eager to act, she set out to create an era in which humans and demons could live together.
Not long afterward, her own siblings and ministers conspired to murder her in the great hall.
The emperor died atop the throne, turning her head to spit out the last mouthful of blood she would ever shed as a mortal. She had a senior fellow disciple named Xie Fubai, the foremost master of the arcane arts of his age. He rushed over as soon as he heard the news, but never even saw Meng Linhuang's body.
It was said that the two had fallen out long before. Yet after Meng Linhuang's death, Xie Fubai took up his sword to avenge her, unleashing a tide of bloodshed.
The immortal sects joined forces to suppress him. History calls it the "War to Pacify the Demons."

Later, he travels through mountains and rivers and the bustling mortal world, witnessing the stories of many people. One day, his own ending comes, too.
This is no dream on a sacred mountain.
Because when a knife pierces your body, it really, really hurts.
Theme: May there always be someone who comes for you, no matter when.

The first time I watched it, I didn't understand it. I was still thinking about how after the accident happened, it suddenly moved to thirty years later and Zhuo Zhuo was old. When I looked back, two people suddenly appeared and Zhuo Zhuo died again. I only understood it after reading two chapters and then rewinding it. Come on, teacher
