Immortality

There is a palace in the heavens called the Hall of Reincarnation. Its master, Song Zheng, often descends into the mortal world to undergo tribulations, and there is also the little immortal Dihua, dressed in ethereal white. Her only regret is that she cannot remember her past life.

The hall contains three realms:

To the left lies the mortal world, to the right, the Avici Hell, and between them lies the path called "Eternal Life."

Those bound by worldly ties are reborn in the mortal world;

Those who did evil in life descend into Avici;

Those who deserve to ascend to immortality are blessed on the crown of the head by an immortal, joined in matrimony, and granted eternal life!

"In the heavens stands the White Jade Capital, with twelve towers and five stories. An immortal strokes my head, joins my hair, and grants me eternal life." Countless people in the world strive for eternal life, yet only a handful truly attain it.

On this day, the clouds parted and the sky cleared. Someone came through the entrance, calling himself Chu Yu. He had waited three hundred years in the Yellow Springs for someone dear to him, to no avail. At last, he had arrived here today and happened upon an old acquaintance. He wanted to tell her a story from the past.

His old acquaintance... Shen Yunqing.

The fourth young lady of the Shen family in the capital, raised in a temple as a foster child. Her life was far too brief, light as a drifting cloud. Yet those lost in the days gone by will, after many twists and turns, meet again

Must becoming a god or Buddha be the only righteous path?

How can one overlook all the mortals who weather calamities? Born with bodies as insignificant as ants, they nevertheless do the work of gods and Buddhas.

They feel joy and anger, and know right from wrong.

They follow their hearts, yet willingly restrain themselves for the sake of morality.

They are free, confident, and content.

Though they live for no more than a hundred years, many leave their names renowned for millennia.

This, too, is a path to eternal life!

Theme: A moment's spark of love can outweigh an eternity of life.
