The Moving Mouse

* First-person narration

* A work of documentary literature; everything is left unsaid

I met someone, someone I remembered for ten years.

When I was little, I brought home all kinds of things I found. It was as if, by picking up all these discarded bits and pieces and taking them home, I could get back everything I'd lost. The adults didn't understand. They only knew how to laugh at me, calling me a little "pack rat."

I want to bring Yanqing home. But across all these lifetimes, through every day and night, perhaps all that's left is a memory.

Call me "pack rat" one more time. Laugh at me or spoil me, I don't care. I just want to go back to how things were. I just don't want to be alone anymore.

Theme: Everything I've lost, I'll pick up again in the end
