After waking up one morning, Dong Luo received an invitation from a mysterious person. Evil spirits were running rampant in the Eastern City, they explained, and their wicked energy was gathering into domains that kept expanding. Recently, these domains seemed to be merging and growing stronger. After careful consideration, they hoped Dong Luo would come help dispel the evil.
Dong Luo: No.
Mysterious Person: ?
Mysterious Person: This concerns the peace of the Eastern City.
Dong Luo: What does that have to do with me?
Mysterious Person: If the Eastern City is taken over by the domains, this place will become...
Mysterious Person: I'll pay you.
Dong Luo: What good is money?
Mysterious Person: You won't have to eat instant noodles every day.
The overly soft texture of instant noodles and the jarringly strong tomato broth came to mind. Dong Luo nodded without hesitation.
But in the days that followed, she couldn't find a single kind of instant noodles in any supermarket, nor could she see the cold moon above the dead branches on the mountains of the Eastern City.
