After Waking Up in My Archrival's Bed

When the doctor tells Xie Zheng he has less than a month to live, he spends a long time thinking about it in anguish.

In the end, he realizes that what hurts most is that he'll never be able to beat Jiang Yao again.

That nemesis has crushed him for years, always just a little better at everything, driving him up the wall, while the other man takes it all in stride.

Xie Zheng searches online in a fit of rage: "How can I make my enemy remember me for the rest of his life?"

Answer: Sleep with him.

Xie Zheng is delighted to find this answer and climbs into Jiang Yao's bed that very day.

When he wakes up in Jiang Yao's bed, aching all over, Xie Zheng feels he's finally avenged himself and can set off for the afterlife completely satisfied.

Jiang Yao grabs him, eyes bloodshot. "Xie Zheng, why would you do this?"

Xie Zheng lies through his teeth. "I've been chasing after you for years, and I'm tired. I'm going to fall for someone else."

He walks away without a backward glance, spreading rumors everywhere that he's secretly been in love with Jiang Yao, and claiming, "He's no good in bed. He couldn't even keep me there, so I moved on."

Unexpectedly, he gets a call from the doctor, who says the diagnosis was wrong and he's perfectly fine.

Xie Zheng freezes. "?"

Wait, what?! Wasn't I supposed to fulfill my last wish?!

Even after Jiang Yao drags him back home, Xie Zheng is still struggling in terror. "No, this is all a misunderstanding. I don't want to--"

Jiang Yao covers his mouth, grips both his wrists, and leans over him. "Moved on?"

"Xie Zheng, you did very well. This time, I really did lose to you."

"But I'm ready to make you fall for me again."

Xie Zheng: ?!??! Hey, man!

Did you forget we're sworn enemies?
