The Cage

[This story is undergoing major revisions. Not recommended for reading.]

When they were young, Zhan Yunzhi and Hou Dingping were close. They were like brothers, admired each other, and often traveled together.

Until one day, Hou Dingping rebelled, killed Zhan Yunzhi's parents, and made him a prisoner, unable to seek death.

When Zhan Yunzhi finally couldn't hold back and asked Hou Dingping why, the other man gripped his chin and smiled. "Because I love you."

Later, Hou Dingping died in the third year of his reign. Everyone thought the emperor had died from drinking too much.

Only Zhan Yunzhi knew that he had killed him.

A little rambling: This story is just writing practice.

Theme: I wanted to buy osmanthus wine and drink with you again, but it can never be like those carefree days of our youth.
