The Outsider's Husband

Li Yangshu had always lived in Xiahe Village. After people started calling him an old maid, his engagement was broken off. Too humiliated to bear it, he hurriedly married a "poor" outsider who had been assigned to their village after the war.

The outsider sent from the county after the war was called Xiao Huaijin. He was three years younger than Li Yangshu, not only handsome but also possessed an air of nobility unlike anyone from the village. In reality, though, he was a living King of Hell whom everyone in this little place feared.

At first, everyone watched Li Yangshu marry the living King of Hell, eager to see what would happen. Some even secretly bet on how many days it would take him to lay a hand on Li Yangshu.

They also said the outsider was so poor he could only live in a thatched hut, and that Li Yangshu was bound to suffer after marrying him.

But they didn't see Xiao Huaijin lay a hand on him. They didn't even have to wait until the wedding before hearing that Xiao Huaijin had bought Li Yangshu candied fruit the day before, a hand warmer yesterday, and a padded coat today!

Where did a poor man get the money?

Some people were envious, others jealous, and some wanted to steal him away. Even Li Yangshu's own younger sister was green with envy.

Their life didn't just get better and better. It was good from the start.

So, amid the envious, red-eyed stares of the villagers, the outsider and his husband lived happily together for twenty years. Then their child passed the metropolitan examination and the palace examination. When he paraded through the streets as a new jinshi, the Marchioness of Pingxi happened to see him.

Li Yangshu had lived a sweet life ever since getting married, but he had one worry he couldn't tell anyone.

Even after twenty years of marriage, his young husband was still just as enthusiastic about what happened in bed. Was that normal?

He was almost forty! He was afraid his back might give out in bed one day.

Twenty years already. When would it ever end...

[Little Extra]

"This husband is one month pregnant."

Xiao Huaijin boasted to his husband, "Your husband sure is capable, huh? I got you pregnant on our wedding day."
