Cheerful, bubbly little money-grubber x scheming, foxlike deposed crown prince
Mu Zhaozhao became a huge star, only to be blacklisted.
After leaving show business, Mu Zhaozhao returned home in a sorry state, burdened with tens of millions in breach-of-contract debt and hoping to recuperate. That very night, she transmigrated through time and became bound to a deposed crown prince in exile. She had to pretend to be his crown princess, who had supposedly died of illness along the way.
The deposed crown prince looked like a character illustration come to life and was incredibly handsome, but Mu Zhaozhao missed the conveniences of modern life even more. After waking up one morning, she found herself back in the modern world, with the deposed crown prince in tow.
Mu Zhaozhao wanted to leave him to fend for himself, but he was offering far too much.
The deposed crown prince casually handed her two heavy gold ingots. Thinking of the current price of gold, Mu Zhaozhao's eyes lit up. She immediately took his hand. "If you don't mind, Your Highness, I'd be honored to call you my godfather!"
Xiao Yan: ...
At the most painful point in his life, Xiao Yan met a lively, adorable sprite. She pulled him out of the abyss of misery and introduced him to a completely different new world. So what if he was exiled under a baseless accusation? He would bring back improved rice, steelmaking, textile machines, steam engines, and other technologies of the Industrial Revolution. The position he had once longed for was nothing compared to that.
Bonus scene: Whenever money-loving Mu Zhaozhao received a gift from the deposed crown prince, she instinctively pulled out her phone to look up its price, then clutched her chest.
"Kesi silk dress, hundreds of thousands; Gold Millet Mountain sutra paper, 300,000 a sheet; Ru ware tea set from the Song dynasty, 30 million; imperial-green jade bangle, 90 million; an authentic calligraphy work by Li Bai, four billion..."
Eventually, the gifts she received became harder and harder to handle.
A lost Tang dynasty guqin score, a phoenix-headed konghou, an ancient se, a Tang dynasty five-string pipa...
Mu Zhaozhao waved her hand grandly and donated them all to museums!
Content notes: 1. The crown prince and crown princess barely know each other. They were simply engaged and exiled together.
2. Both leads have no previous partners. One-on-one romance.
3. The setting is a fictional Tang-Song era, with a different course of history.
4. They will stay in the modern world at the end, and the male lead will not inherit the throne.
5. I'm not good at writing schemes and conspiracies, so read without worry. I'll add more if I think of anything.
