The Emperor and the General Lay Down Their Arms

[The complete story is finished. Bonus chapters are detailed in the pinned comment.] General Zong Ce, the renowned God of War of Great Xia. His achievements would go down in history, and his loyalty was beyond question. Yet the emperor grew suspicious of him, replaced him on the eve of battle, stripped him of his command, and had him executed by slow slicing. Yin Zhu was Zong Ce’s most devoted fanboy. When he woke up, he had not only transmigrated into the foolish emperor he hated most, but had also just drugged Zong Ce, intending to set him up. The laws of the world forbade him from revealing that he was a transmigrator. If he did, his soul would be destroyed. Grinding his teeth, Yin Zhu pulled the great general into the imperial bed. By morning, Yin Zhu regretted it so much he could have kicked himself. He’d nearly thought he was going to die in bed. ...No wonder he was his idol! * After dying unjustly, Zong Ce was reborn in the year he had first entered the palace. At last, he had lost all faith in the emperor and began secretly conspiring with Prince Qi to seize the throne. He even endured humiliation and became the emperor’s favorite in order to regain command of the army. That man had once promised him earnestly, “I will reclaim our rivers and mountains and give you a reign of peace and prosperity.” At first, Zong Ce had scoffed. Because he was full of resentment, he was always especially rough with the man in bed. Later, the realm was at peace, the four seas submitted, and foreign nations came to pay tribute. Regretting his earlier brutality, Zong Ce treated his beloved with the utmost tenderness and care. On the day he returned victorious, he rode home with eager anticipation, only to hear that someone at court had accused him and Prince Qi of plotting rebellion. The palace sent him a cup of poisoned wine. He sent away the subordinate urging him to force his way into the palace, calmly bowed to accept the emperor’s favor, and drank the poison in one gulp. Still, he could not help hoping he might see that man one last time. When he woke again, he found His Majesty lying in his arms, clothes disheveled and eyes red. The emperor looked heartbroken and said, “Idol, you’ve suffered so much. No wonder you’ve been... I thought you’d lost your touch!” Zong Ce: ? A fanatical fanboy emperor as the bottom x a capable, loyal-dog general as the top. One-on-one, happy ending. Note: The author is writing a very unusual kind of groveling redemption story. No matter what the top does, the bottom only feels sorry for him and throws himself into working for his idol. The top, meanwhile, is rather good at imagining things and torturing himself, haha.
