Elaine thought she'd been transported into the game I'm the Warden. The game System would give her money, but she'd have to complete the corresponding missions.
Build the best prison in the country (×)
Pocket the most money (? )
She needed prisoners to make money, so to get her startup funds, on her very first night she went to a cat-eared weirdo, snatched away a grinning young man, and gave him a private cell.
What? The mission list says every prisoner has to have a private room?
It doesn't say I can't build one and then tear it down :D.
Four people in one room seems like a bit much. How about everyone sleeps in a dormitory, like brothers?
That way, I don't have to build walls, either.
Prisoners: So this is what you were really after!
Building separate toilets takes up too much space. How about we install the toilet right by the beds? Then the brothers can chat while they're at it, and use the toilet as a washbasin in the morning.
Then Elaine discovered that after prisoners broke the rules, she could lock them in solitary confinement. Once they came out, their illnesses would be cured on their own.
One less doctor to pay, too.
... (Many more genius ideas omitted here.)
Before long, Elaine had developed a whole business model.
Make the prisoners work for her. If they complained, beat them. If they resisted the beating, beat them even harder. Afterward, send them to solitary confinement, and once they've recovered, put them back to work.
Let's ask you all: what are your dreams?
Elaine: Build the best prison (? ).
Joker: Kill the warden.
Riddler: I love it here! I'm going to make even more money for the warden.
Killer Croc / Scarecrow / Two-Face...: What? You want to know why the Riddler thinks that way? He just got out of solitary. He'll be back to normal after a while.
Matches Malone finally infiltrated Gotham's new prison. Almost none of the prisoners who went in ever came out, and he was going to uncover its secrets.
The prison's interior layout was simply astounding.
And the warden's mind was truly something else (and full of holes).
Note: I'll add more when I think of it.
Theme: Work hard to change a bad environment.
