The Imperial Marshal Keeps Fighting for What He Wants

Duan Xinghe is an ordinary Beta with no parents and little money. By all logic, someone like him would never find a partner in his lifetime.

But he has a Grade S Alpha boyfriend, Song Ting. Song Ting is outstanding and dazzling, though he is just as poor and down on his luck as Duan Xinghe.

Still, he is willing to live a hard but peaceful life with Duan Xinghe.

Duan Xinghe works himself to the bone, hoping to earn enough to send his outstanding Grade S Alpha boyfriend to military academy, so that someone as dazzling as him can have a bright future, and so they can have a bright future together.

Until the day Duan Xinghe braves a downpour to deliver expensive red wine to the Imperial Capital's most luxurious entertainment club.

Through the glass, beneath the flashing neon lights,

he sees his Alpha boyfriend, who usually wouldn't even split the rent with him, celebrating the birthday of a delicate, beautiful Omega.

He's paying for the entire club's expenses.

Only then does Duan Xinghe learn that his Alpha boyfriend's name isn't Song Ting at all. It's Chu Tingen, the youngest son of the Chu family, an old family of military officers that has served the empire for generations.

He was only playing a bet with his friends to see if he could use his looks to find any Beta and keep them.

Chu Tingen won that absurd bet, and Duan Xinghe was nothing but a clown they kept around for entertainment.

In a panic, Duan Xinghe flees, but someone throws a sack over his head, stuffs him into a car, and dumps him in a dark suite.

That night's nightmare leaves Duan Xinghe close to despair and death. When he wakes, the man beside him is still asleep.

Duan Xinghe gets dressed and hurries away, fleeing the place and the planet.

When Chu Tingen meets Duan Xinghe again, Duan Xinghe is standing outside a kindergarten with a snow-white, adorable little rice ball in his arms.

"Daddy, there's a weird uncle staring at you!"

Chu Tingen's voice is hoarse. "The child... is..."

"Don't get any ideas. The child's not yours." Duan Xinghe cuts off his fantasy.

But Chu Tingen doesn't believe him. He keeps pestering Duan Xinghe and the little rice ball,

until the man known as "the demon who crawled out of hell" appears at Duan Xinghe's side and coldly warns Chu Tingen, "Stay away from my lover and child!"

Chu Tingen opens his mouth but can't argue back. He can only lower his head and meekly reply, "Yes, Uncle..."
