My Childhood Friend Is Always Flirting with Me

"About How I Pretended to Be a Girl on My Alt Account to Chat with My Childhood Friend, Only to Find Out He Likes Me"

Shen Huaichuan, the big shot at Jiangbei No. 3 High School, had been feeling rather frustrated lately.

It all started when his childhood friend, Jiang Xuning, the school heartthrob, seemed to have developed a crush on a girl.

Yet as his best friend, Shen Huaichuan had no idea!

In a fit of pique, Shen Huaichuan used an alt account to pretend to be that girl and added the school heartthrob as a friend.

[Xuning-ge, I brought you breakfast.]

"No need."

[Do you like watching movies?]

"Not really."

[Ge, what materials do you usually use when you paint with color?]

"My hands."

But when he messaged the heartthrob from his main account:

[Want to see a movie? I have two extra tickets.]

"Sure."

[I brought you breakfast. Want some?]

"Yes, thanks. I'll treat you to barbecue tonight."

[I heard you have a crush on a girl?]

"I don't."

The longer Shen Huaichuan kept up the act, the stranger their dynamic became, until one day he ran into the real girl he'd been impersonating on his alt account.

The girl pointed mysteriously toward Jiang Xuning and asked, "Are you two dating?"

Shen Huaichuan pondered for a moment, then slowly typed a question mark: "?"
