After My Mistaken Confession Was Rejected

In high school, Lin Shengyang and Lin Mingyuan were close friends. Their classmates jokingly called them the "Two Lins."

Lin Shengyang was gay, but he had always felt that Lin Mingyuan wasn't his type.

Then he met a classmate who was obsessed with astrology and fortune-telling. The classmate talked Lin Shengyang into believing that Lin Mingyuan liked him and had been madly in love with him all along.

"Trust me. He hasn't said anything because he's not afraid of losing you as a friend. He loves you, more than anything. He's crazy about you."

"And of course, you like him too. You just don't know it yet. You really, really like him! The stars say you're made for each other. Two Lins, go on, tell him. Give him a hint."

Lin Shengyang was persuaded. After all, his friend really was great and treated him wonderfully. Maybe he did have a little bit of a thing for him? Hm? Maybe.

That night, he happily opened his friend's WeChat and sent him a confession:

"I like you. Will you be my boyfriend?"

The fortune-telling classmate patted Lin Shengyang's shoulder with absolute confidence. "You two have to treat me to dinner once you're together."

The reply came the next day. Lin Shengyang opened it and, just as expected, found himself rejected.

Later...

Lin Mingyuan showed up outside Lin Shengyang's dorm, holding a bouquet of sunflowers. His usually cool, composed face wore a rare, bashful expression.

Lin Shengyang didn't feel even the slightest bit delighted. How was he supposed to tell Lin Mingyuan that he'd been talked into it, and that he really didn't like him?

"Lin Mingyuan, listen to me explain."
