The Emperor Is My Hometown Friend [Book Transmigration]

[Pretty, lazy bottom who talks a better game than he delivers VS composed, levelheaded top who's a palace-intrigue champion]

Jiang He transmigrated into a book, becoming a cannon-fodder character in a political scheming novel who was destined to be killed by a sinister eunuch. But he wasn't very bright and didn't know any of the rules. He was panicking when he discovered that the Third Prince was actually from his hometown, too. They had both come from the future.

They were even classmates, though his fellow townsman had always done better in school and was exceptionally, exceptionally clever!

Jiang He excitedly grabbed his hometown friend's hand. "Bro, the cosine of an angle stays the same, but the sine changes sign! I'm counting on you!"

His fellow townsman didn't mind. His own situation was perilous, too: he'd just become embroiled in the fight among the three princes for the throne.

Having one more friend was better than having one less.

As they fought their way through the political struggle, Jiang He discovered that his hometown friend was actually a... To ensure his own career prospects, Jiang He volunteered himself and took the initiative to seduce his friend.

The two fought side by side. In the end, his hometown friend successfully ascended the throne, and Jiang He survived, too, becoming a low-ranking official who spent every day lying flat.

After all, Jiang He was the only one who knew all of his friend's secrets.

Every day, his friend would summon Jiang He to the palace for a chat. Of course, these chats mostly took place in bed.

They'd gone from strangers to best friends.

But gradually, Jiang He felt that his friend had changed. There was always something strange in the way he looked at him.

Then it suddenly dawned on Jiang He that his friend wasn't just a fellow townsman anymore. He was the emperor now.

Maybe he should run.

But Jiang He was caught. The emperor before him gazed at him intensely.

"My friend from back home... I've been devoted to you all along. I've done everything for you. If I have any other intentions, may I be struck by lightning."

"How can you prove it?"

"How do you want me to prove it?"

At that, his fellow townsman's face turned red. "Prove it however you like."

Only later did Jiang He understand what his friend meant. He wasn't supposed to become the empress!
