Chu Zhuo crawled out of a mountain of corpses and blood: the remains of his family.

His name meant “to cleanse,” but he was no good man.

Among countless stars, he once saw a boy beneath the moonlight.

The boy was wild and dazzling, bright as the Golden Crow in the heavens, while he was filth in the abyss.

“What is your name?”

What was his name?

“Zhuo.”

“Zhuo, as in someone blinded by hatred.”

Chu Zhuo saw that dashing young man from the grasslands again, except... the boy was no longer a boy.

He was still that same Zhuo.

“A Zhuo, it's been years. I've missed you terribly.”

“My name isn't Zhuo,” he said. “I... am Chu Qingzhao.”

“Qingzhao is A Zhuo, and A Zhuo is Qingzhao.”

Chu Zhuo scoffed.

The Chu Zhuo of those days had died long ago in that fire. The untainted young noble Chu Zhuo no longer existed in this world. All that remained was Chu Qingzhao, sunk in the mud, unable to escape, with nothing left but hatred.

“I am the blazing sun, and Zhuo is the bright moon. I would sweep the stars aside and take the moon, and now the moon is in my arms.”
