The Old Ancestor Keeps a Low Profile

Xie Yanning, a great cultivator at the Tribulation Transcendence stage, was ambushed by an Outer Realm Demon during her routine Heavenly Tribulation and failed to transcend it.

She thought she would die and vanish from the world, but her life-bound protective jade carried her to another world.

No problem. Even with only her remnant soul left, she was confident she could cultivate back to the Tribulation Transcendence stage and return to her own world!

But spiritual energy was too scarce, and her cultivation progressed too slowly. Bored, Xie Yanning began observing the old woman who now held the protective jade.

The old woman was the highest-ranking member of her family, merely occupying the title of matriarch. She watched as her descendants abused the power of the marquis's family branch to waste their lives and commit all kinds of misdeeds, yet did nothing but bask in a false peace.

Xie Yanning couldn't stand it and resolved to help the old woman put her family back in order.

Cockfighting and dog walking? Indulging in pleasure? Bullying men and dominating women? She would make sure the Xie family never dared dream of doing such things!

They could all go do something worthwhile!

Years later.

The eldest Xie brother owns ten thousand mu of farmland; the second becomes chief minister; the third is hailed as a modern-day Lu Ban; the fourth is richer than a kingdom, and the fifth...

The Xie family says, "We're grateful to our unfathomable matriarch! She brought us back onto the right path in time and solved every problem we encountered as we built our future! We're nothing special. The truly profound and unfathomable one is our matriarch!"

Their matriarch, Yan Jiatong, forced to act like she can do anything and terrified that her true identity will be exposed, trembles with fear.

The truly unfathomable one isn't her. It's the great cultivator Xie Yanning inside the jade pendant!
