The Golden House Scheme (Republican Era)

Xu Lingyi transmigrated to the Republican era and became an old-fashioned woman in a time when women were embracing new ideas. She had to wash clothes, cook, and serve the entire household, while her husband slept in a separate bed and had taken another woman as his lover.

The old era criticized her for not devoting herself wholeheartedly to the family, while the new era called her backward and not progressive enough.

Xu Lingyi had no interest in a picture-perfect marriage built on mutual respect and harmony, nor did she care what kind of woman she was supposed to be. She only wanted a divorce and a good life of her own, and to live as a person in her own right.
