The Village Gentry's Daughter

Lu Mi lived in the countryside, three thousand li from the capital. Her mother was a hunter, her father a farmer who had once been a righteous thief, and among her siblings, she was the one who was greedy, lazy, gluttonous, and slippery: the gluttonous one. Every day, her grandmother, Old Lady Bi, watched her granddaughter drool at the sight of uncooked rice. She wanted to send the girl to a wealthy household to learn a few needlework skills. That way, even if she couldn’t marry into a prosperous family, she could still earn enough to put food on the table. Just as Lu Mi was about to embark on a life of sewing and embroidery, the new county magistrate allocated a few extra acres to the Lu family. To help out, Lu Mi started going to the fields with her brothers and sisters every day. Before long, they’d struck it rich. It’s been ages since I wrote a simple farming story~ A lively little life full of petty squabbles and delightful chaos~ Theme: Pursuing happiness
