I Chose to Be Locked Up

Yan Qi is an unremarkable office worker who is a bit socially anxious. He recently changed jobs and joined a company founded by a rich second-generation heir. At the company year-end party, his boss's friend takes a liking to him.

The other man is a wealthy young master from an influential family, with money and power at his disposal. He falls in love at first sight and quickly launches an intense pursuit.

Yan Qi can't handle such passionate attention and agonizes over whether he should quit.

He avoids the other man every day, creating a chase where one runs and the other pursues. After Yan Qi turns him down repeatedly, the man locks him up in an estate.

He can go out, meet friends, and spend whatever he likes on a card.

The only downside is that bodyguards follow him everywhere, so he has practically no freedom!

After living like this, without having to socialize and with money to spend freely, for a while,

Yan Qi thinks... this is kind of great?

Everyone at the estate thinks Yan Qi is a poor canary who has been imprisoned.

Only Yan Qi knows that he is perfectly happy living this way. As a miserable office worker who hates socializing, being treated like this by an outrageously rich and handsome man with an intense possessive streak is simply wonderful!

The only problem is that they're not quite in sync in one particular area.

He can't keep up physically, his back is bad, and the finger-shaped bruises on his body never disappear.

Yan Qi firmly believes that what you can't have is always best, so every so often he tries to escape by any means possible. The consequences of being caught are a little hard to bear, though.

But that's okay. As long as he doesn't have to go to work and keeps getting money to spend, he can put up with this little problem.

After another failed attempt at pretending to escape, Yan Qi deliberately sulks and refuses to eat. When he gets hungry, he goes to look for the little bread roll hidden under the bed, but searches for ages without finding it.

He bends down to look and discovers the space under the bed is empty!

Does that mean he'll have to go hungry tonight?!

While he's fretting over what to do about dinner, a sigh comes from behind him. Strong arms circle his waist, and a familiar, gentle voice murmurs by his ear, "Eating too much junk food is bad for you. Let's go out to eat."
