Xie Chu never imagined that the next time he saw Ning Bin, it would be in an Alliance interrogation room.

Three years had passed, but his ex-boyfriend was still as beautiful as ever. Xie Chu couldn't stop looking at the restraints around his wrists. He couldn't help asking what earth-shattering crime his ex had committed to warrant such a fuss and being tied up like a dumpling, and whether that meant exes could be held accountable too.

Oh, nothing much. The pretty Guide had fired a volley and blown the power supply station sky-high.

Fine, Xie Chu said. He deserved to be tied up. I don't care. Who's looking at him? He's just an ex-boyfriend. I don't care at all.

As if!!!!

Xie Chu: (rushes out of the monitoring room) (fixes his hair) (takes a deep breath) (walks up to Ning Bin) ...

Xie Chu: Hi. Are you looking for a Sentinel?

The Alliance's top Guide, the aloof ex-boyfriend, the man who never lacked admirers, Ning Bin: I am.

Xie Chu: Great. From today on, you're coming with me.

The pretty Guide rubbed his wrist and smiled, tilting his head.

Yes! I got back the puppy who ran away from home three years ago.

The plot in a nutshell

At the dawn of the New Era, humanity brought catastrophe upon itself.

Faced with visitors from beyond the stars, beings of higher life, people had no choice but to put up a protective net around Earth.

A wall of life, secure enough to let humanity hide in the universe for the time being.

But what form should the future take?

Confrontation or concealment? Waiting or evolution? Conservatism or radical change? Catalysis or self-destruction?

In the post-disaster era, anything is possible.

Including the soul hidden beneath the skin.

Ning Bin x Xie Chu

A decisive, sharp-tongued wolfhound in public, but a sensitive, self-conscious, tender little puppy in private. Top.

A cool, restrained beauty in public, but a gentle, calculating flirt in private. Bottom.

1. This is not a traditional Sentinel-Guide setting. There are a ton of original worldbuilding elements.

2. Fictional story, with no real-life basis.

3. Contains some mildly frightening scenes.

4. Lots and lots and lots of plot; the romance develops a little slowly.
