An invasion by alien species, the world's destruction, and the rebuilding of order.
Most Alphas and Omegas developed supernatural abilities and went to the battlefield, while Betas couldn't awaken powerful abilities and could only do ordinary jobs.
Ying Sui was just like the other Betas.
He ran a flower shop that was about to go bankrupt and was determined to be a nameless passerby, lazing his days away.
As the neighborhood auntie put it: "The young man is handsome, but he's lazy and has no ambition."
Ying Sui felt ashamed, then rolled over and changed sleeping positions.
Everyone thought Ying Sui's life would never amount to anything, until one day an alien species came right up to him...

Yu Tingyan, captain of an operations squad, was hailed as the strongest ability user below the Sequence. His personality was so cold that countless people could only admire him from afar.
But a man like him fell for an ordinary Beta.
According to the description, that Beta had no abilities and did nothing but mooch off others and wait to die, a total pretty boy. But Yu Tingyan loved him to pieces.
His teammates didn't get it. "What does he have going for him?"
Yu Tingyan: "He's handsome."
His teammate: "What else?"
Yu Tingyan: "Isn't handsome enough?"
His teammate: "..."
Who knew their captain was such a looks-obsessed guy!!!
His teammates tried to talk sense into him.
They figured that Beta was after something. After all, in the apocalypse, who wouldn't want to find a strong person to protect them, especially an ordinary Beta with no abilities?
Until later
The whole squad was trapped in the lair of an ultra-dangerous S-rank alien species during a mission.
At the moment of mortal peril, that Beta tore open a spatial rift with his bare hands and strolled in as casually as if he were out for a walk, killing several of the aliens without a second thought.
Seeing them, he lazily raised a hand:
"Hey, team-building?"
The team members: ...Yeah, right, wait, no!
What the hell? Weren't you a useless Beta with no abilities?!
3. Ying Sui didn't understand why Yu Tingyan was always biting him.
Only later did he find out
Betas couldn't be marked, so Yu Tingyan could only use this method to make Ying Sui smell like him, over and over, warning off anyone who tried to get close to Ying Sui.
