[This story is temporarily on hold. Check out my upcoming original, no-romance story, A Second-Round Survival Guide for Manga Cannon Fodder.]
Hishikawa Sora is an ordinary second-year student at Teitan High School. Most of the time she's socially awkward, but occasionally she's a social butterfly. If there's anything unusual about her, it's probably that...
She's extremely nearsighted, but doesn't like wearing glasses.
Sure, sometimes she can't see things clearly, but it doesn't really affect her day-to-day life. You get used to it.
But ever since she met the kid in her class who's related to Kudo and loves playing detective, the world started getting stranger and stranger.
When forced to stay at a crime scene, Hishikawa Sora, whose deductive skills are nonexistent, silently stared off at the corner of the wall.
Some Conan: Big Brother Hishikawa keeps staring at the corner. He must have noticed the key clue the killer left behind: a hair!
Hishikawa Sora: ?
Who could even see a single hair lying on the floor?
On a sunny day, the glare made it hard to keep her eyes open. Hishikawa Sora turned away and tilted her head back, blinking her sore eyes.
On the opposite building's roof, Akai was preparing to take a shot: Did she spot me? Just who is that high school student?
Hishikawa Sora: Completely oblivious.jpg
One night, she passed a dim alley and ran into a cool-looking guy in a silver-haired trench coat, leaning against the wall and smoking.
Hishikawa Sora: ? Why are you looking at me? I'll just pick something up and leave. Do what you want.
Silver-haired hitman: ...She saw a murder scene and didn't even flinch? What an interesting kid.
Hishikawa Sora: ...Wait, was that dark lump on the ground a body?!
I DIDN'T SEE A THING!
"So, Hishikawa, why don't you like wearing glasses?"
"When I can see things too clearly, it all feels less real."
"How could that be? Seeing things clearly makes them more real!"
"...Not really." Hishikawa Sora glanced sideways at the cat-eyed young man floating beside her and smiled faintly.
"When you can see too clearly, some things become harder to see."
Those of us with nearsightedness have our own way of getting by. We see the world clearly in our own way.
*No romance! No romance! No romance!
*The protagonist is nearsighted, not blind. She really isn't the sort who can't even walk after taking off her glasses. That would be way too exaggerated, QAQ.
*Akai is very prominent. The Police Academy group also appears, but as spirits.
[I'm so happy to have met everyone on lovely Jinjiang, and not on some weird little website, QAQ.]
Theme: Let nothing hide in the darkness.
